Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Sarah!
I’ve always had an obsession with dogs. My first word was “doggy” and I was known to check out the entire dog section of books from the library at once. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, I moved to San Francisco when I was 18 and got my degree in Photography from The Academy of Art University. While attending school at AAU, I worked part-time at a doggy daycare and that’s when I began photographing the dogs at work to fulfill school assignments.
When I started photographing dogs, something just clicked and I found my creative niche.
In 2012, I started my dog walking and pet sitting business - Running with the Pack. With my experience working in the dog care field, I really got a sense of dog behavior and how to handle multiple dog breeds and personalities.
Working with dogs so closely over the years has given me an intuitive sense of how to get them to pose and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
When I’m not photographing or caring for dogs, you’ll find me spending time with family, friends, my husband Tony and our two Taiwan Mountain Dogs - Wiley & Simone!
